Eileen Sutherland is a co-director with the Manitoba Rural Learning Consortium (mRLC). In this role, Eileen is coordinating collaborative and innovative supports to rural educators to improve learning for all students with a particular focus on aboriginal and at-risk learners.
A big believer in building teachers' capacity, Eileen has spent a large portion of her career working with teachers as they hone their teaching craft.
Eileen is no stranger to rural education, having spent 35 years in various roles including teaching at the early, middle and high school levels, serving as a resource teacher, school counsellor, both curriculum and school improvement consultant, school administrator and the last three years, as an Assistant Superintendent.
Eileen looks forward to an expanded role working with rural educators across Manitoba. Working collaboratively through networks, holds great promise and can only strengthen learning for students in classrooms.
